2006 has been filled with “good stuff” and many, many “firsts” for the Tanzies’!

Geography: This is the first time we have ever lived “down south.” But really Florida is its’ own world. Older, browner people, gators, year-round swimming, Cuban food, beautiful sunsets and no hurricanes! PTL!!

Family: This is the first time we are more than a short drive away from family. Kristen(28 yrs.) continues to love teaching special education in the Big Apple. Nate (26 yrs.)graduated Northeastern University this year and just started a new job in a publishing house in Manchester, MA. We will see them along with extended family as we celebrate the holidays and Joanne’s mother’s 75th birthday in colonial Williamsburg.

We still miss Boston and our old church family at New Covenant Presbyterian. (Come visit, it’s warm down here!) We praise God for our new church family Seacrest Presbyterian who have been so welcoming and supportive during this phase of our ministry. We thank you, our support family (individuals/churches), who have fed, housed and prayed for us throughout this year.


Calling: This is the first time in decades Joanne is not teaching professionally and Bob Is not pastoring a particular church. We continue the preparation for our move to Spain. Our training has been completed and most of our days consist of presenting Team Madrid and doing follow-up/contacts. One big benefit and another first is that we get to work closely together on a daily basis.


Communication: This is a real first for the non-technological Tanzies’…an interactive website!!! Check it out!! You can log onto Rtanziespain.org. and keep in touch!! We just completed our first Spanish course together and use Rosetta Stone daily to get a head start on our language acquisition. !Ore por nosotros! Translation: Pray for us!!!
